I'm due 2/14 with our first baby
I have no clue what to name him or her
every time i pick a name it becomes the "top baby name"
It's so aggravating, lol!
I don't want to give birth to the 1,000,000 th Aiden, Jaden,Kaden,Hayden
HELP!
We like the following-
Leah Elizabeth
Corrina Grace
Finley Isabel- ( I loved this name, Lisa Marie Presley just had twins and named one of them Finley, so i'm kinda done with this name lol)
Emma [ insert middle name here haha ]
Ethan Clark ( ethan is the #1 baby boy name in my state )
Noah Garrett ( Noah is # 10, lol )
Connor Joseph ( I have 2 friends with newborns named ConnER and Conor)
Baby name advice is desperatley needed!
A popular baby name every single time!?
My son is named one of your "millionth" names. No, we didn't intend to give him a super-popular name, in fact at the time we thought it was rare, but I think that when you are going to choose a name based on how it sounds as opposed to what it means to you, you will run that risk. We kind of tend to like similar sounds at the same time, just like fashion trends and popular music.
By the way, asking here is great way to predict what names EVERYBODY is into right now, so be sure to consider the fact that you are polling for popularity, not super-uniqueness, in this forum.
You will not be mortified if there is another Ethan, Noah or Connor, or Leah, Corrina, Finley or Emma in his or her class at school, so if that is the way you are feeling, go with it. After a very short time, your child's individuality will influence how you hear the name you picked, and you'll think, "No way that kid is a (your favorite name here), it doesn't fit him/her!"
I have noticed, though that parents who pick a name for meaning, or to honor someone special in their lives like a grandparent, etc, have more satisfaction with their kids' names and are less likely to care how popular the name is. As long as you can live with the choice, who cares what everybody else thinks? Otherwise, it is a frantic search for the "special" name no one has heard of. That is a frustrating road to walk, and no guarantee that you haven't just discovered the next big trend.
Congrats and good luck! We are due the same day!
Reply:I am glad you are done with Finley. It is a masculine boy's name and is horrid on a little girl.

Reply:there is nothing wrong with having a popoluar name, my name is lyndsey and in my year in school there were more than ten people with this name. so in 1984 this was an extremely popular name.
a couple of years ago when my best friend was having her first baby she called her elisha, around this time names like elisha, alisha, alyssa, alethia were all extremely popular.
i also have two very close friends who have boys called callum, one is 10 and the other is 4 but still they chose the same name.
When i was growing up i had a group of friends and in the group their was 4 chris's. christopher is an extremely popular name but i still think it is lovely.
I always loved the name Thomas for a boy, and vowed from i was a teenager to call my first boy Thomas, however when i met my fiance Thomas, he has refused lol, none of that father son with the same name lol, but hey am still getting the name i want.
It is so hard to think of baby names, and some people do it easily. I always said i would call my first daughter eve or evie as a shorter version of my dear grandmother who passed away, but my sister called her daughter eva.
just you chose what you want, remember that you may change your mind when the baby is born, my sisters son was going to be ben and all the way thtough the pregnancy he was ben and then when he was born it was matthew.
