Baby name troubles???

I told my friend my baby name a while ago that i want for a baby girl and about a year later - just recently after she had got married they decided they were going to start trying and when i asked her if she had names picked out she said she had ava for a girl which is the name i told her.. now i think i may be pregnant and if its a girl i want to use that name what do i do plz help.. thanks

There is always one friend out there who wants to steal the limelight from you isn't there? If you really want to name your baby Ava then you just do that then. However if you feel funny and don't want people to think you took the name from her then give her Ava as a second name and try and find an even better first name if you can. It is a lovely name so don't let this "friend" bother you at all ok. Good luck sweetie.

Reply:Name your baby Ava. I know it is annoying when people copy you but how flattering she chose your advice. That you gave. I stole my daughters name from a lady in the waiting room at our obgyn. She chose Daisy because it was original and I honestly agreed. Big deal! It really is a compliment to you and how much your opinion means to your friend.

Reply:I had that same problem! I had to find another name, because I refused to name my son the same name that my friend stole from me. Anyway, it all worked out and I named him Daniel. I love that name.
Reply:I have this problem with one of my friends. I call her on it. I say "Monkey see monkey do." Pisses her off but makes me feel good. I'd tell her if it really bothers you, or think up an even cuter name and use that one. OR tell her you like another name and maybe she will "steal" that one instead.
