Baby Name KIAN?

Did you ever heard the name KIAN and do you know how to pronounce it? I can't find it in baby name sites

Baby Name KIAN?
Yes I have heard the name, there is actually a little boy in my neighborhood that has the name. The way they pronounce his name is.... Key-on....and it is spelled exactly like you have it spelled here.

OK so I did a little research at alphamom and this is what I came up with...I could not find the spelling Kian but I did find... Keon, Keyon, Kion, Kyen, Cian, Cean all pronounced very similar from Key-on to Key-in to Key-an etc. All are Irish

Keyon, Kion, Kyen are all forms of Keon. Keon is a form of Ewan which is Scottish and a form of Eugene and Evan. Eugene is Greek and means born to nobility and Evan is Irish/English and means young warrior/a form of John. Cian and Cean are ancient Irish names but I couldnt find anything else about them.
Reply:kian name sound unique i can pronounce it as ki-yan ...
Reply:One of the lads in Westlife is called Kian - its Irish I think

pronounce Kee - an
Reply:That's a cute name. I would pronounce it like Ian with a K. (Kee-en). I actually like it better than Ian!
Reply:I have seen it before. I would pronounce it like Ian with a K. Key-un.
Reply:You're right ... it is said like "Ian with a K" sound, although Cian is the traditional spelling (and more attractive, in my opinion).

You can actually hear it said and learn more about it here: http://www.babynamesofireland.com/pages/...

It can also be used a nickname for Cillian (kil-ee-an).

Hope that helps! ;)

Reply:The boy's name Kian \kian\ is a variant of Cian and Keon.

The baby name Kian sounds like Kean, Gian and Khan. Other similar baby names are Jian, Eian, Kiran and Rian.

Kian is a very rare male first name and a very rare surname (source: 1990 U.S. Census). Displayed below is the baby name popularity trend for the boy's name Kian.
Reply:kee-in
Reply:Ciaran is an Irish boy's name. Kian sounds like a phonetic spelling of something like it. Where did you get Kian?
Reply:Think long and hard before you give this name to your son (if this is what you are contemplating).

If you can't intuitively pronounce it, neither will others be able to. He will have a lifetime of people not knowing how to say his name. Every teacher in every class during his formative years will stumble over it, his classmates will torture him over it, and by the time he is 15 he will likely hate the name and have a great deal of anger toward you for giving it to him.
Reply:I absolutley love that name!

it's pronounced (kee-an) or you can pronouce it (ky-an)

if you need a middle name i'll be glad to help

Good Luck!
