What do you think of the baby name, Lovie?

Do you think it's a good name? Do you think there are cruel nicknames that kids can make up with that name?

What do you think of the baby name, Lovie?
its different ,,,,,,but its not what people think..... its what u like
Reply:please don't do it... a girl i went to school with was named Lovie Marie// she was picked on terribly.. heres lovie dovie.. she started going by Marie but people still remembered all thru school.
Reply:The name alone sounds like the child could be picked on,

But that is not something you should worry about if you child is going to be picked on there name isn't going to matter as cruel bullies will make up names anyway! (sometimes there nick names have nothing to do with there actual name anyway?)
Reply:WHOA, way too Mrs. Howell (remember Gilligan's Island?) OK for a boy, though--YEAH, RIGHT! What are you thinking???
Reply:That's the name of the Chicago Bears head coach, Lovie Smith. Maybe you can try to find some interviews or autobiographical material where he talks about his unusual name and growing up with it.
Reply:No it's not a good name. That name is already cruel. It sounds like a pet name that a husband would call his wife.
Reply:This will not make a good grown up person's name. Use it as a middle name.
Reply:I kinda like it... never really thought of it before. And you could call her "Love" for short.. how cool is that?
Reply:Lovie sounds like something you'd name a pet. A lovebird, parakeet or poodle. Sorry, not loving Lovie.
Reply:It reminds me of Gilligan's Island. Unless you want your child to be teased about being a rich old lady, I would say no.
Reply:Please don't, it sounds like a stripper.
Reply:It sounds like an endearment or the name of a poodle. And just because a name might not rhyme with anything does not mean that a child will not make fun of the name. They will make up their own story or change the name to fit something else.
Reply:well it makes me think of the chicago bears coach thats his name and yes its one they will poke fun at
Reply:I don't like it. What I do like is:

Olivia Rose (Livie)
Reply:As a given name? That's asking for trouble.

There are cruel nicknames to be invented for any child, and few escape unscathed. But Lovie sounds like a 50-something Country Clubber who drinks a little too much and covers it with pricey perfume.

As a middle name, you might use Love. But there is a galaxy of names out there, and most of them are head and shoulders above Lovie.
Reply:I think kids would have a fun time picking on someone or trying to come up with what they think are unique nicknames for a child with the name Lovie. Is it Lo-vee or Love-e? Just curious.
Reply:Sorry, but my daughter HAS a "Lovie" -- it's a fuzzy purple panda bear blankie she carries with her everywhere, and quite a common term for exactly that. As a term of endearment and one often used to refer to a child's security object, it seems a very odd choice of given name. Unless, of course, she plans to coach the Bears. Go Chicago! LOL
Reply:nahh..try something else..sorry...
Reply:umm no i do Not think it is a good name. i think it sounds cute for like a pet or something. cruel nicknames? oh they can always find something.
Reply:It reminds me of what Thurston called Mrs. Howell on Gilligan's Island!
Reply:Gag me with a spoon
Reply:Well, i think it is cute but yes there are some cruel nicknames or things they can say to her. Like Lovie, make love to me, or lovie dovey, and i can get into the whole make lovie thing but i wont. I think its adorable. maybe try it as a middle name, lovie or love which i think is even cuter.

try these

Addie Love/ lovie

Kyle Love/ Lovie

Sabrina Love/ Lovie

Spencer Love/ Lovie

Ray Love/ Lovie

Bailey Love/ Lovie

Piper Love/ Lovie

Paige Love/ Lovie

Pheobr Love/ Lovie

Billy Love/ Lovie

Summer Love/ Lovie

Sadie Love/ Lovie

Lucy Love/ Lovie

Elle Love/ Lovie

Ella Love/ Lovie

Peyton Love/ Lovie

Paris Love/ Lovie

that way u stay in the heard of but unique pretty names range. there is a less chance of ridicule and they all sound great together. good luck, i hope you like my answer and congragulations on your baby!
Reply:Lovie is what your great aunt twice removed calls you when she cant remember your name.

Elderly people are forever calling young girls "lovie" and this could confuse the child.

Love is a beautiful emotion, but do you really want a child to be stuck with a name like an emotion for the rest of her life? Like what if you called your child Anger or Hatred, Confused, Tired? Lovie is almost as bad

Love is an emotion so lovie is like love which is a feeling, just like the names of the seven dwarves from snow white, sleepy, happy, grumpy, etc etc etc....

Like sweetie, poppet, darling, baby, and dear, lovie is a pet name used by those who forget names....you don't want your child to think they are forgotten do you???
Reply:You want honesty?? they wont have to come up with a cruel nickname to pick on the kid.
Reply:It's very cute for a baby but not for an adult. When she's 40 and in a real job I think she'll be embarressed by the name.
Reply:Sounds a little bit too much like a pet's name. No offense, but I think it would not be a good choice.
Reply:It's a cruel nickname in and of itself. Give a child a real name, and nickname her Lovie. It's a terrible real name.

Think really hard about this. "President Lovie Smith". LOL! So silly.
Reply:i dont think there are any bad names but i dont like it
Reply:It's okay as a nickname you use at home, like "honey" "sweety pie" etc.. but as a name name?! PLEASE don't do that to your child.
Reply:I don't like the name, it sounds childish, what would the kid do when they grew up? Try an L name and then you can call the kid Lovie in private. It also depends on the gender of the kid. Please do not name a boy Lovie, it would not go over well at school!
Reply:that is actually what I call my niece, shes my Lovey bug !
