Can you take days? Weeks? What would he be called in the meantime?
How soon after you give birth to a baby can you take to name him?
I wasn't named for 2 weeks!
We have 2 names picked out for her: Scarlett Audrey or Lola Victoria-Rose.
My boyfriend wants to take her home, and ask our family what they think she looks like or resembles...
Reply:The hospital where I gave birth makes you choose a name before you leave, but the name on the birth certificate can be changed for free up until they are one year old. After that, it is a complete pain. We just chose a name and stuck with it.. we ignored our doubts. No name is ever going to be truly perfect.
Reply:Most folk have the name picked out before the baby is born.,
Why wouldn't someone want to name their baby???
Reply:they usually have a person that shows up to register the newborns
Reply:you can take them home nameless and call baby Baby ! But dont do that. What would life be like without a name.
Reply:Probably by about six to eight weeks. I wouldn't go any longer than that. Good luck! ;-)
Reply:I think it has to be within 6 weeks but i am not sure. My little sis was not named for 3 months. We just called her Baby Girl until we could decide on a name.
Reply:I would plan the name during pregnancy, and if they baby looks like they name you both decided on, then woohoo!
But if not, I would buy a baby name book fast.
Reply:Why wait? I don't understand how someone can wait days to name their child.....if you want to wait until you see his face then have a few names in mind and see what fits best. But I don't reccomend waiting very long....he'd be known as Baby(insert your last name here)
Reply:stupid people here (quebec canada)gave me until the day after.. i wasnt allowed to choose afterwards. i had the first name but i was ahving trouble with last name..
Reply:I would name my baby right away.
Reply:you need to name it right away
