Baby name stupid ???

anyone else think this is a bit silly. my boyfriends name is scott and if my baby is a boy he wants it to be called scott junior ??

thanks=]

Baby name stupid ???
I have to agree with you there :L

Why not have scott as his middle name?

Lets hope its a girl!
Reply:It's not really silly - there are a lot of people who like to have "juniors" in their families. Do what you feel comfortable with - if you don't like it and think it's silly, then tell your boyfriend you'd rather not name your son that. If you do like it and know you'll be happy with it for the rest of your life, then disregard everyone's opinions and name your baby that! Best wishes!
Reply:It depends on your personel preferences, I wouldn't want to myself since he may get teased at school and it will sound a bit daft when he's 50 and you're 80 and you're calling him Scott Jn. But it isn't up to me, you shouldn't really take my opinion into account much.
Reply:Do what you think is best for you...

But it is very "American".

The middle name tradition is nice - that's done on in my family for several generations and it's kinda nice. But you could come up with some other tradition, say baby's initial's are yours and partners and let that be part of your child's stories of their life and family...
Reply:my bfs called leo and he wanted to call our lil boy leo too but i didnt wanna cos i fink it wud gt confusein. but all his firends call the 1st born boy after the dad so he rli wantd 2 bt i wudnt have it n stood my ground lol :L

hes now called jake =D
Reply:In my opinion I cannot stand when people name their kid scott junior becuase how do you think the kid would feel? If I was named ------ junior I would feel like I was a knowckoff of the original. U know what I'm saying. Just name him scott without the junior.
Reply:It's kind of boring. Maybe suggest having the middle name be Scott? I wouldn't even upset him about it, if you really disagree, until after you find out the sex of the baby (if that's the plan).
Reply:I don't particularly like it when people do that but that's a personal preference - plenty of people do it! If you don't want it though tell him, you're the one that has to push him out, you get final say!
Reply:personally i dont like kids to have the same first name as a parent as i think they are there own person and deserve to be an individual, however i think scott as a middle name is ok.
Reply:Hi

Alot of people name there sons after them lol but i think its a bit silly.

But just the name "Junior" is nice and different.

Maybe use a name similar to scott ?

hope i helped =) and good luck
Reply:i dont get why some parents name their kids after themselves..i can understand if it were a grandparent you were naming them after..but dont you think your child deserves his own identity..

i too think scott junior is silly..
Reply:It seems popular in America to me, here no one really does the Jr thing. I personally dont like it, give your child their own identity.
Reply:No not silly at all.

My son is named after my husband Paul.

He's name is Paul Junior, but we have always called him P.J.
Reply:I don't really like the whole Jr. thing but lots of people do. I would just use Scott as a middle name that way your son can still have his own name.
Reply:its not really silly its sorta boring maybee you should make his middle name scott or something
Reply:I think its nice for a father and son to have the same name but that is totally your decision!!
Reply:oldfashion tacky boring... the kid has his own life not his father...
Reply:Not silly...sounds decent
Reply:No not at all:) Good luck and congrad's!
Reply:It is not creative and it is very bland.
Reply:use scott as the middle name
Reply:Aww that's sweet.
Reply:nothing wrong with that!!
