How do you feel about the name "Keller Kate" for a baby girl?

My husband and I just found out that our baby is going to be a girl, and we like the name 'Keller' but are not fully convinced...is it too masculine? Will she be teased about the "Helen Keller" reference? Or is it unique and unisex enough to work? Your thoughts, please!

How do you feel about the name "Keller Kate" for a baby girl?
I think its great that you want to be unique, but honestly it seems a bit to much like "killer kate" to me. Good luck though!
Reply:Kids are mean; they will tease any name, particularly uncommon ones. I doubt many will come up with Helen Keller, but they will tease Keller on its own. But I'm a Molly, and I got teased for that and my last name, which is nothing elaborate. I know a Keelin and a Kylin, and they get along fine.

I like the name, I think it's different and strong. I also like the names Hadley and Harley, though, so I may be biased.
Reply:Sorry but....NO! Don't do that to her. Please!
Reply:I didn't think of Helen Keller, but instead thought of how much Keller sounds like killer. I'm not fond of it, but I love Kate though.
Reply:I really like the name Shay so maybe that should be her name......
Reply:I love the name Keller, but Keller Kate does not hit me with awesome feelings....I feel like I'm rooting for a baseball pitcher who beams the batters on every throw.

Maybe Keller Sian or Keller Nyx/Nox

or switch it up a bit like Aven Keller

Kell or Khell might be great for a Celtic Horseclan kind of feel.
Reply:I've actually never heard of the name "keller". "keller kate" is kind of odd, sorry...just watned to be honest.
Reply:hey i dont really like the name keller kids are cruel and will proably make fun of it u coould flip it to kate keller
Reply:i agree with the one before this. can you do kate keller?
Reply:i am an adult and my first thought was Helen Keller (whom was an amazing female) then i thought it does sound masculine. i think i would personally wait for a boy and Keller would be ok, or even for a middle name. congrats
Reply:To be honest, the first thing that popped into my head was Helen Keller.
Reply:sorry but it looks like it should be kate keller instead of keller kate. if u wanted a unisex name try Angel or Lesly
Reply:I like the name but I also think that its a little bit too unique, if you know what I mean. It is kind of masculine.

You could try Abigayle Kate!
Reply:I don't like it lol.. sorry! :)
Reply:i don't really like it - i do find it masculine.

it sounds more of a nickname. i have a friend named Kelly and my friends and i call her Keller or Kellers as a nickname.

i like the name Kelly better. Kelly Kate sounds adorable. plus, Kelly isn't that popular. it's a name that everyone knows but no one has. it was number 222 on the top 1000 names of 2007 (for girls) list. http://www.ssa.gov/cgi-bin/popularnames....

Kellie or Kelley are other ways to spell it. My favorite way is Kellie. Kellie Kate just looks adorable! i really love the name Kellie Kate.

if you personally find Kelly/Kellie/Kelley plain, then try a more unique / uncommon middle name to "spice" it up.

here are some ideas to get you started:

Kelly Scarlett/Scarlet

Kelly Ariana/Arianna

Kelly Victoria

Kelly Jasmine

Kelly Juliet/Juliette/Julietta

Kelly Alexandra

Kelly Marissa

Kelly Charlotte

Kelly Christina/Kristina

Kelly Maria

Kelly Madeleine/Madeline/Madelyn/Madalyn

Kelly Genevieve

Kelly Michaela (mih-kay-la)

Kelly Hazel

Kelly Valentina (val-en-tee-na)

Kelly Aria (ah-REE-ah, like Maria without the M.)

Kelly Evangeline

Kelly Selena

hope i could help! good luck and congrats!

Reply:it seems more like a nickname for Kate who's a "killer"

lol sorry
Reply:my first thought was hellen keller! kids are cruel, dont give them something to make fun of her. try something more feminine too :)

im naming my girl Amberly Paige

Daniella is pretty too :P
Reply:I think Hellen Keller is admirable enough to name a baby after... I like it. What about Reagan Kate? Kate is hard to pair as a middle name.
Reply:I don't think that the Helen Keller reference will come up that often.. I first thought of "Killer Keller" (that's awful, i know).

I do think that it's a bit masculine though. I'm not sure that it's unisex enough... is it a family name? If so, and you like it, go with it. If it is just a name that popped out, I might look for some others and see if that is still what you like.

Other names like it that sound a bit "girlier"...

Kyla

Kenna

Keeley

Reply:i dont think most kids these days really think to much about helen keller. i think it is cute if you both like it go for it and dont really like kate with it it doesnt really flow well is kate a family name you are trying to use? otherwise i would try some other middle names the double k and abrupt sound of kate sounds funny.

Reply:well i think its a cool name, helen keller never enterd my mind. its masculine enough to be a romance novel hero or femine enough to be the tough heroine. congrats and good luck.
Reply:Maybe Kate Keller would be better. Or else she might be called "Killer Kate" which would be a cool nickname for a sport nickname, but not if they are going to taunt her with it .
Reply:As soon as I saw the name "Keller" I thought Helen Keller. And it is kind of masculine. Kelly Kate would be better, as long as your last name doesn't start with K, if you know what I mean.
Reply:To be honest when i first saw it the first thing I thought of was Killer Kate...
Reply:Sorry too. I thought Killer Kate. It might get her some teasing. The First name is nice. Yeah, Keller hmmm. That part is nice.
Reply:Well, if you don't mind ur daughter being called "Killer Kate" as she grows up...........
Reply:I dont personally like it

what about kellie. i think you shouldnt go with keller but thats just my opinion.

Good luck!
Reply:sorry but i dont like it!!!
Reply:Quite honestly, it sounds like an in-joke that went out of date.

The kids will call her "Killer Kate".
Reply:Yep NO Um Thats kind of ... shes going to get teased
