Baby names to go with odd last name?

So we find out on the 5th what we are having, so I figured I would do a little Q%26amp;A for both boy and girl baby names. The last name is Hamm, not a very common last name.

For a boy I liked the name Parker as a middle name (after my father), but my mother says it sounds too much like porker, and then the last name Hamm... hmm :)

So ideas would be greatly appreciated! Preferably some original names, I like the name Lily but I am not too sure...

Baby names to go with odd last name?
Mother knows best - Don't name your son Parker.

Lily is a nick name Lilian is a nice name.
Reply:Congratulations on your baby!

I don't think there is a problem with Parker for a middle name. If it were the first name...

That is a tough last name, but whatever name you choose in the end will come to sound fine (as long as it isn't something that would provoke teasing!).

Good Luck! :-)
Reply:I think I agree with your mom. If he is even a teensy bit chubby, then other mean kids will call him Porker or Porky.

I would go with relatively comman names so to lessen the chances of children picking on your child. In other words name where he/she could "fit in"

For boys, names like Tyler, Conner, William, Jacob, Andrew, Matthew etc..

Girls...Caroline is gorgeous! I do so love that name!!!

Reply:Hamm... Thats a tough one. Gotta be carfult there. I agree, if little parker was in the least bit chubby it could be devastating!
