Baby name - adoption situation?

We've recently welcomed a baby into our home as a foster baby. She came to us as a 4 day old and she is now 2 months. The program in our area is such that babies like her go into foster care, for various reasons, and CAS goes to court for permanent guardianship. Once that is granted the baby goes for adoption and in this case we will be the adoptive parents. That way there is no movement from home to time prior to adoption and she gets a chance to bond from the start with her new family.

This little one was given the name Brooke-Lynn by her bio mother. Both my wife and I love Brooke because it has a connection to my family but the whole Brooke-Lynn, Brooklyn, Brooke Lynn combo is a non starter for us.

We are going to keep the Brooke part of her current name but as part of the adoption process we are going to give her the middle name of Kendell.

How does Brooke Kendell sound as a name?

Baby name - adoption situation?
Hey you answered my question so I'll return the favor :)

Funny that you mention it because my dad wanted to name my sister Brooke-Lynn and my other sister Snow. Thank God for my mom.

Brooke Kendell sounds like a very cute name. And in any case, it won't really matter to her because most people don't know each other's middle names anyway.
Reply:I don't really like how they sound together... Something about the K sounds at the end of Brooke and the beginning of Kendall kind of throws the flow off. But, it's your baby, if you like it then go for it!

I would also pick Brooke Kendall over Brooke Lynn, I know two Brooke Lynns and there are probably more out there.
Reply:I agree with the second answer. The K in Brooke is weird with the K in Kendall. Maybe:

Brooke Cassidy

Brooke Renee

Brooke Lindsey

Brooke Taylor

Brooke Erin

I don't like Brooklyn like the city but Maybe just keep Lynn as a second middle name? Brooke Kendall Lynn? It's your baby. But Congrats with the adoption!!

Reply:I like Kendall Brooke better than Brooke Kendell--do the normal Kendall spelling. The double k at the end of each name makes it sound choppy when spoken aloud. I like it better than Brooke Lynn, but it's still not the greatest.
Reply:Lovely idea :] I especially like how you have chosen to keep her first name for a bit of continuity and heritage there. I would definately rate "Brooke Kendell" over "Brooke Lynn".
Reply:I'm not wild about Brooke-Lynn or Brooke Kendall. Have you thought about Brooke Angela, Brooke Danielle, Brooke Liana, or Brooke Amelia?
Reply:I think it sounds great. I also think it was great that you chose to keep at least part of the name her mother gave her.
Reply:i like brooke kendell much more than brook lynn!
Reply:if you love it, then that's what you should name your child. i think it's lovely.

and congrats!
Reply:i would go with brooke kendall! the name is very pretty!!
